The Wasdio™ looks to replace WASD for controlling First Person Shooters on the PC

ENCINITAS, Calif. - Nov. 27, 2012 - Matterdaddy®, a company whose goal is to make video gaming more intuitive, launched the Wasdio™ on Kickstarter. The Wasdio, pronounced ‘woz-dio’, is a PC video game controller that aims to eliminate the keyboard and it’s WASD control scheme. The keyboard’s W, A, S and D buttons are 4 keys used nearly 100% of the time by 3 dedicated fingers in high-pressure gaming situations. With the Wasdio, gaming is now less stressful and more fluid.

The Wasdio enables gamers to control forward, back and lateral movements with the palm of their hand, freeing up the 3 fingers typically dedicated to the W, A, S and D keys used in action and adventure game like first person shooters (FPS), massively multi-player online role playing games (MMORPG) and more. By gaining back 60% of your fingers and eliminating the need for ‘finger-tip gaming’, games are no longer about touch-typing under pressure, rather a natural and fluid gaming experience is at hand. The mouse is still used for aiming, but the keyboard is replaced with a device specifically designed to give players a deadly advantage.

With 16 programmable buttons; 4 at your thumb for things like jumping, crouching, reloading, melee attacks, etc.; 6 on the handle for picking up objects, switching weapons, throwing granades, etc.; for secondary actions, there are another 6 located on the base of the controller.

The Profiler software included with the Wasdio enables gamers to quickly get into the game with preconfigured profiles for today’s most popular games. Additional game profiles can be created in minutes and shared with the community eliminating the need for thousands of people to create the same profile for every game.  By teaming with fellow players, a comprehensive profile library of both blockbuster and indie games with be built.
